I Am

A candid farce betwixt mine eyes
self-assured for assuredly unabashed
grip has loosened to leave myself
gone into the fire, left where I cast
as I knock wondering who will answer
behind the door where the hall of mirrors linger
with gaze no longer averted
one foot in front of the other
I stare into something more meaningful than a void

I am no longer my nightmare, nor dream

I am.
